Organ & Historic Museum Saturday, April
26, 2008 9:30 a.m. to Noon The Lee Conklin Antique Reed Organ Museum proudly displays about 95 fully restored and working antique reed organs. We'll be treated to the beautiful sounds of these antique instruments. Lee Conklin's first organ to be collected was a cottage organ (left) manufactured by Mason & Hamlin of Boston, MA in 1884. Kudos to Terry Jankowski for making the arrangements. Address: Phone: (517) 563-8927 More information at http://www.conklinreedorganmuseum.org/lcro.htm Click here for written directions. Chapter
Bylaws A vote on the draft bylaws was held pursuant to
the process ratified at the September 2007
meeting. Use your browser's "Back" button
to return from the links on this page. Thirty-two ballots were mailed to the paid-up
active members. Nineteen members responded with “Yes” votes, approving the
bylaws. Eleven members did not respond. Two ballots were returned for unknown
addresses. The Bylaws having been approved by 19-0, the
Bylaws are ratified and Chapter dues are now $15. Pay
dues now. We will soon be culling the membership and mailing lists to
eliminate those who are not paid-up members. Pipe Dreams Support Dave Wagner informs us that the Michigan Chapter
will be billed as the major local supporter of Pipe Dreams on WRCJ (90.9 FM)
from Sunday, February 10 through Sunday,
March 16, for a total of six weeks, instead of the original five, due to some
confusion on the first program. We owe Dave many thanks for his efforts on
behalf of the Michigan Chapter. O.H.S. National Membership The O.H.S. National Headquarters is concerned
that many local Chapter members are not members of the national organization.
We will have brochures and applications at our next meetings and encourage
you to become a national member. If you are in a hurry to join, visit www.organsociety.org. Nearby national
conventions will be held in Cleveland in 2009 and Pittsburgh in 2010, and
these are very interesting, a lot of fun and present a perspective on pipe
organs that is different from the AGO nationals. Browse CaBalettA.com |
